New England Comic Forces Collide for the 2026 Improv Comedy Mud Bowl in Farmington
Prepare for a high-stakes, no-holds-barred battle of wits as the 2026 Improv Comedy Mud Bowl takes over the Emery Community Arts Center on the University of Maine at Farmington campus. On Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., three powerhouse improv teams will go head-to-head in a night of irreverent, fast-paced, and unfiltered performance.
Unlike your typical seasonal sketches, the Mud Bowl is designed for those who prefer their comedy with a bit more of the unexpected. Featuring mature content, this evening of showcases and challenges moves beyond the polite and dives straight into the unpredictable, ensuring that no two scenes—and no two punchlines—are ever the same.
The evening’s lineup features a premier roster of New England talent:
- The Providence Improv All-Stars: Representing Rhode Island’s finest, this elite squad features four of the state’s most decorated comic performers: Michael Amaral, John Ring, Jimmy Sorrel, and Ryan Hanley.
- Yes&Co.: Joining from Portland, Maine, this acclaimed troupe brings their signature brand of collaborative, high-energy storytelling to the Farmington stage.
- Teachers Lounge Mafia: Western Maine’s own improv comedy veterans will round out the triple-threat bill, keeping the local spirit of improv alive and well across the foothills.
“The Mud Bowl isn’t just a show; it’s a collision of different improv styles and regions,” said organizer Dan Ryder of Teachers Lounge Mafia. “In the Before Times, Mud Bowl was an annual tradition. We might not be able to go home again, but we sure can keep ourselves from getting stuck in the mud. And where better than Emery Community Arts Center to host some world world-class spontaneous comedy in Maine’s backyard?”
